Hello, bonjour, guten tag… ayup me duck!

However your audience speaks, make sure your products speak to them in the language they recognise. Whether that’s in their native tongue, a different tone of voice or even colloquialisms, show that you speak their language.

When you need to translate product information into the languages and formats required by the different selling channels, OMIO PIM simplifies the process. Translating your product information into different languages and formats couldn’t be easier. Once your translations are set up, any future products will automatically be converted based on these rules.

What happens in the Translate stage?

Choose your country or channel – or both – to begin your translations. OMIO PIM also supports international alphabets and symbols. You can translate all key product details such as colours, sizes and product descriptions to suit the requirements of a particular channel or country.

Translate your colours and add your chosen colour codes, and easily translate your product descriptions. Translations aren’t just related to language however. Different channels or countries may require sizes or descriptions in different formats. By translating key attributes, you are able to use more local terminology or colloquialisms. Alongside this, you’re also able to create three SEO descriptions per product, per style, enabling your digital and eCommerce teams to tailor the most flexible, relevant descriptions for your target market.

What are the benefits of the Translate stage?

  1. Whilst not all channels use a matching product hierarchy, this is not a problem as OMIO PIM translates the key information to match your channel requirements.
  2. When your translations are set up, any future products that you create will automatically be translated when your product feed is sent out.
  3. You can go back to edit your translations or set up new ones at any time.
  4. This one-off process helps your products to quickly reach your digital marketplace.

What’s the next stage of OMIO PIM?

The next – and final – process of OMIO PIM is Publish. Here, all product data is reviewed and, whomever has the given authority, can review product data. With our user-friendly traffic light functionality, any missing or incorrect data can be sent back to the relevant team member. Once all the data is present and correct, it’s published to a live product file which is ready to be released to your selling channels.

Say goodbye to data duplication and repetition, and hello to creating flexible product experiences for your market. Our OMIO PIM experts would love to chat to you about how OMIO can help you test new marketplaces – get in touch here.
